I am working my way through this book and intend to finish it because it continues to hold my interest enough to to do that. It's rare that I won't finish a book I start. I agree with another reviewer that this is taking a long time. Right now it seems the protagonist is trying to solve a problem with a running monologue that has grown tiresome. Her love interest has had some responses to her reactions that I frankly find inappropriate and uncomfortable and I don't know where that situation is leading. I find myself hoping they don't end up together and that is unusual for a love story. I think this is a love story, it certainly purports to be. Something that has struck me as not quite right several times in the book is a tendency toward the protagonist, her friends and her love interest to characterize her statements as being sarcastic. Honestly, these comments have not been funny or snide and I suppose I must define sarcasm differently than the author because I just don't see it. This book would be quite a lot more readable with about half the total word count. And perhaps if the characters were a little less narcissistic they would be more appealing.Product details

The premise of the story is a good one and the characters are well developed. However, there were too many descriptions of the main character's photographic exploits and a great deal of repetition in the fine points of taking and selecting photographs for print. Were it not to find resolution to the story, I would not have finished the book. Others may not be as curious.
I knew way before Columbus Circle that Christoph wasn't real. How? He was all wimpy and whiny and totally unwilling to accept responsibility for his actions. A man in love is not perfect but he's smarter than this moron. By the way, I'm female.
this is a very different book. it's kind of like chick lit, but not so much. it's a story that you want to find out the end of....i compare it to a mystery, in a way.
sometimes i felt the words were just too much, just too complex, tooo many words and not enough action going on, but i understand the point the writer was making.
this is a book about love, but with a very, very different slant to it. and if you stick with it, and keep going -although it seems there isn't a direction for it to go in- you will be rewarded.
this is not a feel-good book, but it is a peek into an episode in a young woman photographer's life in nyc. i would recommend it; it's kind of fascinating.
if you are looking for a book you cant put down, this is it..... i am always a little leary at first with books i am always looking for one i can not put down, well let me tell you, i was up till 415 two nights in a row reading it ( of course i stopped to use the bathroom) it was so funny, unexpected, and sad at times. the author captures each character so well she might as well been the character. as for a love story, well at one point in our lives we all met a christoph, someone who is there alittle more then we were, but this has a turn around i had no idea was coming, i noticed that in some books i read i find myself jumping words to get to the next page, not so for this book, i was rereading each line ...After reading Cari's first book Fake Perfect Me, and it was brilliant also, i had no question that this was going to be a best seller, and went into the book knowing it was going to be brilliant, and was not disappointed. going to keep this paperback in my nightstand for a re read when i am out of books for sure...good luck with your career Cari, i cant wait for your next book..... -)
An emotional and sometimes humorous story of self-discovery and the search for a "perfect" soulmate. Chloe is a budding artist and is preparing for her first gallery exhibit. If you love reading about the art and photography world, this book is for you. I absolutely loved the author's description of Chloe's passion and drive in pursuing her dream of displaying her first photography exhibit. The story was a bit slow for me, however, in the development of Chloe's budding romance with the mysterious Christopher, who Chloe "meets" online through a mutual acquaintance.
Chloe wants to find the love of her life, and I enjoyed reading about her journey toward self-discovery and possibly, romance. The author also created a very memorable group of supporting characters that are all essential to the story. This is a very well-written book and is perfect for anyone who loves chick-lit with a dramatic twist and a little edge. The ending was a complete surprise but made perfect sense.
